Faith Building Miracles

I’ve seen miracles. When God says yes to prayers and interrupts the world and suspends the laws of nature temporarily, it certainly bolsters my faith. Can you imagine trying to reconcile in your mind, how Jesus who came back from the dead in a body that was recognizable, able to appear, ascend into clouds, yet be touched and could consume a nice dinner. I am sure its an understatement when Dr. Luke says ‘they were astonished’! The other emotion that accompanied those early disciples way joy. Why? Because now there was proof positive of life beyond this one. The hope of resurrection and eternal life was in their midst. They could see Him and touch Him as well. Now, that’s a faith builder!

And He said to them, “Why are you frightened, and why are doubts arising in your hearts?  See My hands and My feet, that it is I Myself; touch Me and see, because a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you plainly see that I have.”  And when He had said this, He showed them His hands and His feet.  While they still could not believe it because of their joy and astonishment, He said to them, “Have you anything here to eat?”  They served Him a piece of broiled fish; and He took it and ate it in front of them. Luke 24: 38-43 NASB

What faith building moments has God afforded me? How have I responded to His gracious revelations and miracles? In what ways has my faith grown?

God, as this day begins- the first day of fasting for 40 days. Please inspire each in our church to think of You often, place our cares before You and see You move with power. May anything we temporarily ‘give up’ be replaced with sweet moments of fellowship and Your presence. Specifically, I am asking that You would continue to draw my ‘Someone’ toward Yourself, work also to completely heal my friend Jeanetta, and continue to reveal Your will and future for my son Keanu. I know You to be the God of miracles, even today!
