Exclamation Point

Then some children were brought to Him so that He might lay His hands on them and pray; and the disciples rebuked them. But Jesus said, “Let the children alone, and do not hinder them from coming to Me; for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” After laying His hands on them, He departed from there. Matthew 19:13-15

In the midst of teaching and debating Jesus paused and blessed children. In doing so, He put an exclamation point on His teaching about divorce. In essence He was saying, if you look at divorce from the point of what “rights” do I have, you will miss the point of marriage. By embracing the children, He refocuses the discussion to the inevitable… what about the kids?

Am I running around trying to demand what I deserve or recognizing God’s wonderful design for life, family, friendships, work, recreation, etc..

Lord, look how subtle You were. Powerful. Help me see the bigger issues of life like You.
