For everything God created is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving, because it is consecrated by the word of God and prayer. 1 Timothy 4:4
Man made rules don’t often accomplish the purposes of God. Paul reminds Timothy that certain hypocritical teachers will violate their own conscience by teaching people not to do certain things… like getting married (which is a God ordained relationship), all the while not subjecting themselves to the very rule they made. We are to watch out for those types of teachers and point them out. Paul goes on to say “If you point these things out to the brothers and sisters, you will be a good minister of Christ Jesus, nourished on the truths of the faith and of the good teaching that you have followed. Have nothing to do with godless myths and old wives’ tales.”
Am I a good minister of Christ Jesus, pointing people to the Word of God and the truth? Am I helping people avoid the trappings of the hypocritical? Yes.
God, what a big day You have planned. I am a bit tired, but ready to serve You and Your kingdom. Would you give me favor with Your people, guide my words and my steps today. Bless me please as I try to make an eternal difference.
