When Jesus came down from the mountain, large crowds followed Him. And a leper came to Him and bowed down before Him, and said, “Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean.” Jesus stretched out His hand and touched him, saying, “I am willing; be cleansed.” And immediately his leprosy was cleansed. And Jesus *said to him, “See that you tell no one; but go, show yourself to the priest and present the offering that Moses commanded, as a testimony to them.” Matthew 8:1-4
Jesus healed a man with leprosy. He told him to go straight to the priests and do what the law of Moses required. But, why? He was already healed. Jesus did not come to abolish the law, but fulfill it. And I suspect that Jesus wanted to remind the priests that God still does miracles. I think we all need that reminder.
Am I convinced that God can still do miracles? Yes! Am I stepping out in faith with God, expecting Him to show up? Are people being healed around me?
Lord Jesus, I do believe in miracles and moreover, I believe in You. Show me situations You want me to act in faith and build others up in theirs. Thank you that you send people my way with stories of the miracles You have done in their lives.
