Entering In

Have you ever gone into some place and realized you were ‘out of place’? Maybe it was a very holy place? Or some event in which you found yourself underdressed for the occasion. When the glory of God settled on the tabernacle, even Moses gave pause and was not immediately able to enter in. The glory and holiness of God are in stark contrast to our humanity, deficiency, and sin. We need a holy priest to go before us. That priest in Moses’ time was Aaron. For us, it is the Lord Jesus Christ who “has entered in” on our behalf. For the people of God during the Exodus, they could visibly see the token (cloud and fire) of God’s presence with them. Can others see the token of God’s presence in me? In you? After all, not only can we enter into the holy of holies, He has entered into us.

Then the cloud covered the tent of meeting, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle. And Moses was not able to enter the tent of meeting because the cloud had settled on it, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle. Throughout their journeys, whenever the cloud was taken up from over the tabernacle, the sons of Israel would set out; but if the cloud was not taken up, then they did not set out until the day when it was taken up. For throughout their journeys, the cloud of the Lord was on the tabernacle by day, and there was fire in it by night, in the sight of all the house of Israel. Exodus 40:34-38 NASB

Can others see the token of God’s presence in me? What cloud or fire will God display in me today?

God, as this day begins- May You work a mighty work in me. There are people to love, projects to manage and complete, family to adore, and so much more. Direct my mind, impart Your wisdom, and help me reach out and love someone in Your name today. Please continue to provide, even as You are in such magnificent ways.
