Discounted?

Have you heard the phrase “what have you done for me lately”? Sometimes people in power discount the success of the recent past or think you are not really necessary to the success of the future. That’s what happened with Moses. Pharaoh received the benefit of the miracle from God that relieved the problem of the frogs, but immediately hardened his heart. None of this was a surprise to God. When you are discounted, don’t worry- God sees you!

Moses replied, “It will be as you say, so that you may know there is no one like the Lord our God. The frogs will leave you and your houses, your officials and your people; they will remain only in the Nile.” After Moses and Aaron left Pharaoh, Moses cried out to the Lord about the frogs he had brought on Pharaoh. And the Lord did what Moses asked. The frogs died in the houses, in the courtyards and in the fields. They were piled into heaps, and the land reeked of them. But when Pharaoh saw that there was relief, he hardened his heart and would not listen to Moses and Aaron, just as the Lord had said. Exodus 10-15 NASB

Who am I ultimately trying to please, God or man? Am I giving God the glory for my successes?

God, as this day begins- You moved in an amazing way within the hearts of people at church last night. Wow! Today, please help me complete the important tasks of the day. Thank you for the people You’ve appointed for me to work alongside. I hope I am not discounting them in any way.
