The rest of mankind, who were not killed by these plagues, did not repent of the works of their hands, so as not to worship demons, and the idols of gold and of silver and of brass and of stone and of wood, which can neither see nor hear nor walk; and they did not repent of their murders nor of their sorceries nor of their immorality nor of their thefts. Revelation 9:20-21
They did not repent. The response (or lack of it) by those who survive the outpouring of God’s wrath fascinates me. They, like Pharaoh have hearts so hardened that they refuse to repent from their sin, even after God has judged ever so severely. Amazing!
What about me? What does God have to do to dissuade me from sin? Am I quick to repent and turn my mind and heart around to His way? I believe I am. I certainly want to be.
Lord Jesus, when you begin to return and the time of tribulation and the wrath of God is revealed, oh I pray that I might be among the elect who find themselves in Your presence. I know You are full of lovingkindness and long suffering. Thank you that Your grace extended to me. May the rest of my friends and family find it to. May they be counted among those who repent.
