Delivered

I love when I get packages delivered to my house and a little text notification tells me to check the front porch. It seems like I get a lot these days! There is a delivery that exceeds all of those. I think God has used my simple life to be a blessing to others. Some might even say I helped them find freedom by introducing them to Jesus Christ. I know that any role I played in their ‘deliverance’ from sin, is God working through me. He alone saves! You and I are called to work alongside God, helping others find freedom. One of the greatest “deliverers” in history (second only to Jesus) is Moses! His name is peculiar because its origin is conflated between the ancient Egyptian language and the Hebrew. Moses, can be understood as ‘drawn out’ or ‘delivered from’… isn’t that curious. Before Moses could ever deliver His people, he himself needed to be saved and delivered. Of course, it was God working His will through it all. And so it is today, if you and I will be drawn out (of sin, shame, our past life, the waters of the Nile, bondage, etc.)… He will use us to deliver others. Oh that we need more Moses’ today!

Pharaoh’s daughter said to her, “Go ahead.” So the girl went and called the child’s mother. Then Pharaoh’s daughter said to her, “Take this child away and nurse him for me, and I will give you your wages.” So the woman took the child and nursed him. And the child grew, and she brought him to Pharaoh’s daughter and he became her son. And she named him Moses, and said, “Because I drew him out of the water.” Exodus 2:8-10 NASB

How grateful am I for my deliverance? Who in my circle of influence needs my prayers, my words, my efforts (amplified by God), today?

God, as this day begins- I find myself relaxed and recharging for the next season of life and ministry. I am well aware of the profound way You have delivered me from a life of self and sin, to one of life and love. Oh, I want that for all I know. Use me for Your glory today. And please help me progress in writing the book You’ve placed on my heart.
