To this end also we pray for you always, that our God will count you worthy of your calling, and fulfill every desire for goodness and the work of faith with power, so that the name of our Lord Jesus will be glorified in you, and you in Him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ. 2 Thessalonians 1:11-12
Paul prayed for the people in Thessalonica who were undergoing persecution. Sadly, throughout the world Christians suffer even today for their faith. Paul reminded them that one day, God would set things right. Meanwhile, he wanted them to be counted worthy of their calling… and they were. Moreover, he asked God to fulfill their desire to do good and live out their faith in power. All of this would reveal and glorify Jesus Christ.
Who is suffering that I can pray for? How is God fulfilling my desires for goodness and works of faith?
Lord, our prayers for one another are honored by You. Please work mightily in me and meet the needs of those on my prayer list who are suffering. I pray for healing for some, work opportunities for others, and protection for those in danger.
