The stone which the builders rejected has become the chief corner stone.
This is the Lord’s doing; It is marvelous in our eyes.
This is the day which the Lord has made;
Let us rejoice and be glad in it. Psalm 118:22-24
The rejection of the Messiah was part of God’s plan. Though terrible misguided men crucified the only begotten Son of God, it produced a desirable result, the payment for sin for all mankind. In that sense, it is marvelous in our eyes… those of us who have appropriated that forgiveness afforded at Jesus’ expense. To say ‘this is the day which the Lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it’… is to say, I understand God’s salvation plan and I accept it.
How do I see the cross of Christ? When did I receive Him and accept His forgiveness?
God, your plans are truly marvelous and almost unbelievable. Your love expressed in giving Your only Son as a sacrifice is beyond compare. Everything in my life is now built on this corner stone. In that sense, Jesus is my rock. Another day today, with fun, challenges and my need for Your wisdom. Show me what I do not know. Please move heaven to earth and show Your love and affection in my life and ministry. Thank You for what you did yesterday. I am grateful.
