I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has strengthened me, because He considered me faithful, putting me into service, even though I was formerly a blasphemer and a persecutor and a violent aggressor. Yet I was shown mercy because I acted ignorantly in unbelief; 1 Timothy 1:12-13
Paul felt the wonderful privilege of being both forgiven and called into service for God. He knew from where he came and as a result had a wonderful balance of zeal and passion for the gospel truth along with grace.
How about me. Do I err on either side. Do I contend ferociously for the truth, knowing that only the truth of Jesus Christ and His gospel can truly set someone free? Have I continually extended God’s grace and patience in my personal interactions with people?
Oh Jesus, again You are my source and my goal, my example and God! Make me more like you today.
