Consecrated

I have a familiar and friendly tone with the living and true God of the universe. I am not saying I am flippant. But, because of the wonderful saving work of Christ on the cross, I feel invited into a personal relationship with God the Father wherein I can approach Him throughout the day in casual conversation. If I have a tendency to error it is probably forgetting that I am interacting with the Holy God, who in His perfection and character is wholly inconsistent with my sin. While he invites me in, I should remember that He is Holy. Through confession, repentance and prayer I can consecrate myself afresh to Him who is worthy of my devotion. I don’t have to remain beyond the boundary of Mt. Sinai. I can ascend His Holy Hill.

Then the Lord spoke to Moses, “Go down, warn the people, so that they do not break through to the Lord to gaze, and many of them perish. Also let the priests who come near to the Lord consecrate themselves, or else the Lord will break out against them.” Moses said to the Lord, “The people cannot come up to Mount Sinai, for You warned us, saying, ‘Set bounds about the mountain and consecrate it.’”  Exodus 19:21-23 NASB

How can I consecrate my time and life to the Lord today? Have I given Him full access to my heart, soul, mind, strength and imagination?

God, as this day begins- I am starting out with much to do. But, what is most important is that I reflect Your holiness and character in all of it. May I reach out and love someone in your name? Help me accomplish what is most important. I consecrate myself and this day to You.
