Company Of Fools

I am so pleased with the people around me. Those with whom I work, live and play are really great people. None of us is perfect, but we have in large part, ceased from foolishness. That sure makes life great! Half the fun of fishin’ is who yer fishin’ with! In this collection of proverbs, Solomon highlights the pitfalls of interacting with fools. He has much to say. There must have been many examples in his own life. He says, be careful- we tend to become like those with whom we associate. And I love this time tested colloquialism: ‘don’t cut off your own feet’ by trusting a fool with something important that you yourself should do. Great advice!

Do not answer a fool according to his foolishness,
Or you will also be like him.
Answer a fool as his foolishness deserves,
So that he will not be wise in his own eyes.
One who sends a message by the hand of a fool
Chops off his own feet and drinks violence. Proverbs 25:4-6 NASB

Am I careful with my interactions and the trust I place in others? How is God removing foolishness from my life?

God, as this day begins- I pray I could be a source of wisdom to others. I know there is foolish thinking that creeps into my little pea brain. Replace it with Your Word and ways. Yesterday was wonderful. May today present opportunities to love others in Your name. Work within all situations to bring about Your will. Buoy up those who have lost loved ones, especially the Barnum family.
