Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction so that we will be able to comfort those who are in any affliction with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. 2 Corinthians 1:3-4
My friend owned a vanity phone number 800-COMFORT. It was very valuable. A popular hotel chain wanted to buy if for a million dollars. Only Christian suffering makes sense. Why? When I receive God’s comfort, it prepares me to comfort others who suffer. The Bible says all of this is a result of God, the Father’s great mercy.
What comfort have I received in times of suffering? Though my suffering certainly has been minimal, the comfort I have received has been lavish.
Oh God, may I be a comfort to others as I represent in many situations, Your hands, Your heart, Your love. I praise You this day.
