And when the living creatures give glory and honor and thanks to Him who sits on the throne, to Him who lives forever and ever, the twenty-four elders will fall down before Him who sits on the throne, and will worship Him who lives forever and ever, and will cast their crowns before the throne, saying, “Worthy are You, our Lord and our God, to receive glory and honor and power; for You created all things, and because of Your will they existed, and were created.” Revelation 4:9-11
What a seen it will be (and currently is) of the living creatures, angels, elders, people and ultimately at the center of heaven, God! The response of these honored “elders” is a humbling reminder to anyone who wants to be great in God’s kingdom. They take off their crowns and cast them before God and redirect any adoration to Him.
Is this my attitude? Do I direct the praise of men to Him? Or do I receive it because at some level I still need it?
God, You really are worthy to receive glory and honor and power. I hope one day to earn a crown, so I may cast it before You!
