“Three times in a year all your males shall appear before the LORD your God in the place which He chooses, at the Feast of Unleavened Bread and at the Feast of Weeks and at the Feast of Booths, and they shall not appear before the LORD empty-handed. Every man shall give as he is able, according to the blessing of the LORD your God which He has given you. Deuteronomy 16:16
God created a pattern for the men to come together and celebrate and remember how marvelously He provided for His people. They would use the backdrop of three feasts or parties. They in turn would give to God what they were able.
Do I have times of coming together with others in celebration of what God has done? Am I coming empty-handed or with a gift? Is this the spiritual pattern of my life? Always rejoicing in Him with gifts in my hands?
God, this is such an incredible picture of remembering all the good You have done. Help me be fully engaged in what You are about in this world.
