See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception, according to the tradition of men, according to the elementary principles of the world, rather than according to Christ. Colossians 2:8
Many people are in bondage to ideas that are based on lies. These ideas, philosophies have produced a way of living that is contrary to the life God has for us. Its very base and lacks the higher purposes of God’s kind intention.
Have I bought into any of the philosopies of the world? Some. I must examine my life and make sure I am not hampered, encumbered, or paralyzed and unable to do God’s will because of these. I must guard myself from the way the world idolizes money, views friendships as disposable, devalues family, and most of all lacks faith in God.
Lord Jesus, what a cosmic battle we are in! Remove the worldly scales of my eyes, so I can first see You! And energize me to follow Your will and share your good news will all I meet. And Lord I pray that you will be the central focus of our worship today. Fill Chuck, our pastor. Fill Michael and Cammy with Your spirit! In Jesus name, amen.
