But God,…

I knew a pastor who went through a season of being attacked by people. They were expressing their doubt about his leadership and decision-making (not to him, but gossiping to others). He offered in return, his love, kindness and patience (basically- his grace ‘unmerited favor’ to them). He was asked, how can you offer such grace upon grace. His answer ‘I have received and continue to receive an unending supply’! Every person who has accepted Christ, appropriated the forgiveness of God, and committed their heart to Him receives grace from an unlimited supply. And in addition we are made alive and become a living testimony of the vast riches of God’s grace. Because he is so grace-filled and graceful, we who follow Him can be too.

But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in our wrongdoings, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up with Him, and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the ages to come He might show the boundless riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.  Ephesians 2:4-8 NASB

Can I remember when I was dead in my trespasses? How visible are the riches of God’s grace in me?

God, as this day begins- May I walk with You in the newness of life. May I extend Your grace to someone in need of it.
