According to the grace of God which was given to me, like a wise master builder I laid a foundation, and another is building on it. But each man must be careful how he builds on it.
For no man can lay a foundation other than the one which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if any man builds on the foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, each man’s work will become evident; for the day will show it because it is to be revealed with fire, and the fire itself will test the quality of each man’s work. 1 Corinthians 3:11-13

When we participate in the building of a ministry or in particular the building up of God’s people for holy service, we should strive for building with pure motives and quality workmanship. After all, the formation of Christ is people is an eternal endeavor. The thought that this would somehow be connected with a reward is an amazing idea. I find its only when life’s tests come that we really see what one another is made of. As leaders sometimes we work “in” the ministry, other times we work “on” the ministry.

How am I building within the ministry entrusted to me?

Lord Jesus help me give quality time, effort, and motives to all I do in Your kingdom.
