But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting anxiously for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to eternal life. Jude 1:20-21
Jude’s warns about deceivers who enter the church, cause division, exhibit and advocate for licentiousness, and ultimately deny the Lord Jesus Christ as Master. Their rebellious nature is contrasted with his admonition to every believer: build yourself up in your faith by immersing yourself in prayer and the love of God, while anticipating Jesus return.
How is my prayer life? Am I expectant about the return of the Lord?
God, I desire that You would actually guide me into prayer this morning by Your Holy Spirit. Place within my heart a growing love for You and godly things. Help me look anxiously at the coming of the Lord with expectancy.
