Brothers till the End, I know

Therefore, since the children share in flesh and blood, He Himself likewise also partook of the same, that through death He might render powerless him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, and might free those who through fear of death were subject to slavery all their lives. Hebrews 2:14-15

Jesus endured a physical death in order to associate with us and to take away the power that the enemy of our souls (the devil), has. I do not have to fear death, for Jesus took my place and paid the penalty of my sin by dying on my behalf. With this comes freedom.

Do I feel the amazing freedom? I do. I am not bound by any fear of judgment from God or accusation of the devil.

Jesus, when I say you went all the way for me, I mean it. I see it. You lowered yourself, below even the stature of angels to affiliate with me and then to call me a brother. Oh the amazing condescension. I am grateful.
