But I have trusted in Your lovingkindness;
My heart shall rejoice in Your salvation.
I will sing to the Lord, because He has dealt bountifully with me. Psalms 13:5-6
When we are in trouble, God shows His kindness. Our job is to trust in Him and His character. David experienced that often and he sang about it. He describes God’s dealings with us as “bountiful”. God’s bountiful treatment has with it the idea of us receiving more than we deserve, (like getting a bumper crop).
Does this describe my life? Yes, I can think of so many situations where I have no other explanation than “God saved me according to His lovingkindness”. I try to maintain an attitude of humility, which is fitting, since I know its God more than ever.
Its true Lord, I trust in Your lovingkindness. I am dependent on You and Your character. My heart rejoices in Your salvation. I will sing to You. And yes, I know that what I have received is undeserved. Thank you.
