If anyone thinks himself to be religious, and yet does not bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this man’s religion is worthless. James 1:26
An evidence of spiritual maturity is the ability to not say things that would displease God. Bridling the tongue is an evidence that God has done a marvelous work in a heart.
As I look back over the last two weeks, what has come out of my mouth? I have some growth in this area.
God, work deep in my heart to purify my motives and perfect my love, so that I might speak in a way that glorifies You.
