For it is superfluous for me to write to you about this ministry to the saints; for I know your readiness, of which I boast about you to the Macedonians, namely, that Achaia has been prepared since last year, and your zeal has stirred up most of them. 2 Corinthians 9:1-2
Paul asked the church in Corinth to prepare a gift for the churches in Achaia (who had already prepared on for others). In essence, there was a godly competition of generosity. This idea of excelling in the area of giving must seem strange to the unbeliever. The worldly measure of a life is “accumulation”. The Christian’s standard is “donation”.
How much have I given away that God has placed in my hands? 5%, 10%, more?
Oh Lord, you have made me both rich, and given me the ability to make others rich. May I be faithful in letting your love and wealth flow through me.
