But the eleven disciples proceeded to Galilee, to the mountain which Jesus had designated. When they saw Him, they worshiped Him; but some were doubtful.
And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age. Matthew 28:16-20
Jesus gave the most far-reaching, incredible, audacious goal to his followers. He basically said, take what I am doing and repeat it everywhere in the world. What a huuuuge goal. But the secret was that they would not be alone, He would be with them and in them (by the abiding presence of God, the Holy Spirit). And now 2,000 years later, we are the one’s accomplishing the goal.
How faithful am I in my role as a disciple making other disciples? Am I observing all he commanded? Is He with me?
God, I am glad to part of this big hairy audacious goal. I see how Your Spirit is working in me and others. I pray that in this season we would see revival for believers and the salvation of thousands. I know that is Your will. Help me be faithful with the one’s you entrust to me.
