MagnificatZechariah asked the angel, “How can I be sure of this? I am an old man and my wife is well along in years.   How will this be,” Mary asked the angel, “since I am a virgin?   I am the Lord’s servant,” Mary answered. “May your word to me be fulfilled. Luke 18, 34, 38

Zechariah doubted the message from the angel Gabriel, while Mary embraced it with curiosity.  Both asked “How?”  But Zechariah’s question reveals the doubt he had.  Therefore Gabriel made him mute until the fulfillment.  Mary, simply marveled with faith and inquired “How” would God accomplish such a great miracle?  While Zechariah had nothing to say, Mary’s prayer (known as the magnificat) is well known as a sterling example of obedient faith.

How about me?  Do I doubt God or trust Him?  I am I walking in faith, believing His promises?

God, as I go through this day, may I walk in confidence that You will bring about what You have promised.  You are more than able!
