Jesus said to them, Truly I say to you that the tax collectors and prostitutes will get into the kingdom of God before you. For John came to you in the way of righteousness and you did not believe him; but the tax collectors and prostitutes did believe him; and you, seeing this, did not even feel remorse afterward so as to believe him. Matthew 21:31-32
Who will really be in the kingdom of heaven? Jesus warned the religious who were unresponsive to John the Baptist’s message that others who heeded his message were actually closer to heaven than they were. The key: believing to the point of action. They got baptized by John. This was quite a contentious issue.
Does my belief in God lead to action? Sure, all the time.
God, as we begin this Sunday morning together I am grateful for your love and the life You have for me. May my belief be real and lead to action, so my colors are clear. I am for You.
