Begin On Purpose

Now in those days a decree went out from Caesar Augustus, that a census be taken of all the inhabited earth. This was the first census taken while Quirinius was governor of Syria.  And all the people were on their way to register for the census, each to his own city. Now Joseph also went up from Galilee, from the city of Nazareth, to Judea, to the city of David which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and family of David, in order to register along with Mary, who was betrothed to him, and was pregnant. Luke 2:1-5 NASB

Every day can have eternal purpose! Actor, Will Smith says “begin each day as if it were on purpose”. I love laying my head on my pillow at night and looking back to see who I was able to love in Jesus name, or how I made a difference in our world. Don’t you? Have you discovered that God gives great importance to what we often think are mundane and simple tasks? The Christmas story is one of epic importance that unfolds in the humblest of circumstances. The outward scandal of a pregnant teen, her boyfriend (trying to do what is right), and a journey compelled by an oppressive government. All of this used by God to fulfill a prophecy about Jesus’ birth and to reveal the Messiah to those waiting for the consolation of Israel.

I wonder what God has purposed in my activities today?

God, as this day begins- guide and direct my steps. Help me see what You are doing and to join You. Thank you that each day is a wonderful adventure with eternal prospects. Please help me especially to complete the preaching message on Joy!
