The prophet Joel foretold a time when God would gather all the nations to the valley of Jehoshaphat for judgment. The judgment was two-fold, the wickedness of the nations and the mistreatment of Judah (God’s people). Some will ask, ‘is it fair for God to judge’? The answer is yes. How un-fair would it be for our holy God to be inconsistent with Himself and not judge wickedness?!
So, am I clearly on God’s side, counted as one of His? If so, then he avenges any mistreatment I have endured as a follower of Jesus Christ. In my case, very small degrees of persecution have been part of my life, nothing compared to the great Christians who have lived before and in other places.
God, I am so glad you are absolutely righteous. Your judgments are always pure and fully informed. I pray that I will stand in your army on the day of judgment in the valley of decision.
