For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus. For it is only right for me to feel this way about you all, because I have you in my heart. Philippans 1:6-7
When a person is emotionally invested in the spiritual well-being of others, like the apostle Paul and Timothy were with the Philippian believers, you sense how they are doing in the Lord. Paul felt confident and assured that God was perfecting them and sanctifying them. How did they get this incredible bond? Paul prayed for them.
Am I this way with the men in our church? Yes, to greater and greater degrees. Because of the heartfelt prayers for them, I see what God is doing and their obedience to scripture. It gives me a great assurance for many.
Lord, thank you for those who pray for me. I pray more and more that our men at Crossroads will be filled with love and wisdom, and be prepared to suffer when necessary for you. Motivate them into a wonderful force for your sake.
