I have been worried in recent years about the inability of people in our society to discern what is right and true. Social media platforms provide an ability for broadcasting ideas that are quite contrary to that of the Savior. It seems like today “Anything Goes!” There are many false prophets (athletes, musicians, artists, business magnates, and politicians, and yes, even pastors). They are published in a variety of venues promoting lifestyles and values quite contrary to godliness to the detriment of the followers. Who are these False Prophets? How can you know them? One simple test comes down to their belief in Jesus. Do they confess that He is God’s unique Son, who has come into the world? If not, they are ‘anti’ Christs. They are apart or against Him. Be careful, don’t follow! There are indeed many, and one who is coming that will ultimately embody completely Satanic ideals. We better sharpen our skills of discernment or prepare for great deception.
Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God; and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God; this is the spirit of the antichrist, of which you have heard that it is coming, and now it is already in the world. 1 John 4:1-3 NASB
How susceptible am I too the voices of false prophets? How much do I love the truth? Is my life one of holiness?… or does it shout ‘anything goes!’?
God, as this day begins- I am grateful for Jesus Christ- my example of grace and truth. Thank you for imparting the Holy Spirit who leads me into all truth. May I be a small voice proclaiming Your goodness and love, truth and righteousness in a world that has gone mad. The myriad of falsity proclaimed at every level of society is truly breathtaking and scary. Oh that Christians would be ‘watchmen on the wall’ proclaiming the Truth. Help me do that. Lord, thank you for Keanu flying in today.
