Ships need Anchors

This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, a hope both sure and steadfast and one which enters within the veil, where Jesus has entered as a forerunner for us, having become a high priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek. Hebrews 6:19-20

The Christian hope is very real and powerful because its “anchored” on Jesus Christ, the most incredible person who ever lived. The author of Hebrews points out that He is an anchor for our soul, because He went ahead of us into death, was resurrected, and He understands what we face in this life, yet has overcome. His provision for our sin (through His death on the cross), sets him apart from any other religious person who has ever tried to lead people to salvation. He not only describes the way, He provides the way in Himself. He is as unique as Melchizedek, as mysterious, and eternal.

How secure is my soul? Completely!

God, I thank you for Jesus. I get Him! Maybe not completely in my limited mind, but I get that You came to earth to reveal Yourself and make a way for me to live, know You, and ultimately be transformed day by day with Your character. What an anchor in my life You are.
