Now when the builders had laid the foundation of the temple of the Lord, the priests stood in their apparel with trumpets, and the Levites, the sons of Asaph, with cymbals, to praise the Lord according to the directions of King David of Israel. They sang, praising and giving thanks to the Lord, saying, “For He is good, for His lovingkindness is upon Israel forever.” And all the people shouted with a great shout when they praised the Lord because the foundation of the house of the Lord was laid. Ezra 4:10
The song they sang was well fit for the occasion. God demonstrated His goodness in bringing the people back to Jerusalem after 70 years of captivity. Ezra, recorded the joyous moment. They didn’t wait until the temple was completed to praise and thank God. They praised Him when the foundation was laid. That was enough to trust God for the rest, because He is faithful.
Do I wait to thank and praise God until everything in life is perfect? Do I trust Him enough to give Him praise once the foundation is laid?
God, I love that there is no other foundation in our lives that Christ Jesus. I want to thank you today for the foundation You are in my life, family, and ministry.
