Beloved, I pray that in all respects you may prosper and be in good health, just as your soul prospers. For I was very glad when brethren came and testified to your truth, that is, how you are walking in truth. I have no greater joy than this, to hear of my children walking in the truth. 3 John 1:2-4
John and Gaius had a relationship centered on their work for Christ and in the church. One of the great joys for John was knowing that Gaius was in the ministry leading the church and helping others grow in their faith. How incredible it is, when the people you lead to Jesus, later lead others.
Do I find the same joy as John? Yes, one of my great joys is knowing young people from my youth ministry are pastors serving in churches.
God, thank you for the reminder that the ministry I am doing now makes a difference now, for the next generation, and for eternity.
