It Doesn’t Have To Be A Drag

But as for you, speak the things which are fitting for sound doctrine. Older men are to be temperate, dignified, sensible, sound in faith, in love, in perseverance.

Older women likewise are to be reverent in their behavior, not malicious gossips nor enslaved to much wine, teaching what is good, so that they may encourage the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, to be sensible, pure, workers at home, kind, being subject to their own husbands, so that the word of God will not be dishonored. Titus 2:1-5

Some people don’t enjoy getting older. I do! (Except that my body can’t do everything like it used to, lol) With age comes wisdom. At least, we hope it does. What should accompany our maturity is an ability to be even-keeled, reasonable, and have a soundness about us in relation to faith, love and ability to endure. As women age, a reverence, temperance, and encouragement of younger women should mark their lives. Gossiping and wine drinking can detour their growth. Notice that family becomes far more important as well because our priorities change, as they should.

How am I moving from one season of life to another? How is God developing my character and priorities?

God, as this day begins, show me what dignity, sensibility, and soundness should look like in my life in this season. I pray You will work mightily in the lives of my friends and family. Open doors of opportunity, help us each solve problems, and rely upon You and Your ways. Its fun getting older.
