To The Pure, All Things Are Pure

PureTo the pure, all things are pure, but to those who are corrupted and do not believe, nothing is pure. In fact, both their minds and consciences are corrupted. They claim to know God, but by their actions they deny him. They are detestable, disobedient and unfit for doing anything good. Titus 1:15-16

Paul wrote to Titus about selecting elders for the churches in the towns in Crete. After giving the qualifications for the elders, he illustrates the great need for Christian leaders. Lastly, he makes known that in and around the church there are still unbelievers who have not yet been renewed in their thinking. Their god-given conscience is corrupt and in need of transformation. But notice, how much freedom a believer discovers… to the pure, all things are pure.

God, do I find myself fault-finding and judging others? Or have I discovered that with a pure and godly motivation comes freedom?

Lord, knowing You is what makes all the difference. May others know that I belong to You by my actions… may they be pleasing, obedient, and fit for good. Work in me today.
