For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world, and forfeit his soul? For what will a man give in exchange for his soul? For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will also be ashamed of him when He comes in the glory of His Father with the holy angels. Mark 8:36-38
Jesus posed a profound question about the value of the human soul. In his estimation it was worth more than the whole world. How many people place such little value on their lives, purpose, and very soul. They sell out cheap. Or they believe a lie that they don’t matter.
How about me? Have I realized that Jesus sees me so very valuable. He was willing to die to save my soul.
Oh God that I would preserve my soul for Your sake! Help me again today recognize the value you place on me and that I can be pleasing to You. Jesus, what a value system you have.
