But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting anxiously for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to eternal life. Jude 1:20-21
Sometimes my internet browser reports a 404 error. I think that means that something wasn’t on the right page. This happens to people who aren’t even using the internet… they are just on the wrong page. What attitude should I have when I see false teaching and division in the body of Christ? Humility. From this position comes a power from long ago, knowing how God has dealt with His people and those who were unbelieving. I am to contend for the truth of the gospel handed down to us once and final. Then look to myself and be sure I remain in the love of God.
Is this my demeanor and practice? Yes. But, what a great reminder. As apostasy grows, I will need to be prepared to humbly and firmly confront error and evil.
Lord Jesus, You did all this with grace, truth and power. Be my guide in any conflict. I praise You that I am part of a wonderful, loving, Bible based, fellowship and church. Wow! What a blessing. Continue to lead and guide our leaders, even as You are.
