Imitation is the Sincerest form of a Compliment

ImitateTherefore be imitators of God, as beloved children; and walk in love, just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma. Ephesians 5:1-2

Children like to imitate their parents. I remember a commercial where a little boy does everything his dad does. Then the dad lights a cigarette. The point is made. We are to be imitators of God in the same way a little boy would do what he sees his dad do. Jesus showed us that living a sacrificial life is ‘walking in love’ and how we imitate God.

How well am I living out what I see in Jesus example and ministry? When people see me, do they see Jesus Christ in me? I certainly hope so.

Lord Jesus, You are my model in all things. Because You loved me and gave Yourself up for my sake, I will imitate You. Help me walk in a way that is worthy of Your great love.
