Who Is In Whom?

who is in whomI will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.
After a little while the world will no longer see Me, but you will see Me; because I live, you will live also.
In that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you.
He who has My commandments and keeps them is the one who loves Me; and he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and will disclose Myself to him. John 14:18-21

At the last supper, Jesus told his closest friends that He was going to the Father. Of course, they had seen the Father, because they had seen Jesus who was intimately connected to the Father. They didn’t need to worry because The Helper, the Spirit of truth would come and be with them and in them. In some sense, Jesus reveals His presence as the Holy Spirit is at work in us. The tri-une Godhead becomes somewhat indistinguishable in our lives because God is One. So, a believer can feel like a set of tupperware bowls. We are ‘in Christ’, yet the spirit of Christ and the Father and the Spirit are in us.

How am I allowing the living God to abide in me? Am I also living in Him?

God, sometimes I feel very connected and close with You. Then, there are moments when I feel I disappoint You and I sense a distance. I pray that as this day begins, our fellowship will be close and sweet. I pray that this will be a joyous day as You lead and guide me. Thank you for being with me and in me.
