motivationTherefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all defilement of flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God. 2 Corinthians 7:1
For the sorrow that is according to the will of God produces a repentance without regret, leading to salvation, but the sorrow of the world produces death. 2 Corinthians 7:10

Actors trying to prepare for apart often ask their director: What’s my motivation? Ever asked yourself, what’s my motivation in dealing with sin? Is it to assuage an angry God, or a response to the greatest love of all, Jesus’ sacrificial death on the cross and the wonderful promises of forgiveness, relationship, and heaven that come with it? I am going to say, both! There are a hundred reasons to cooperate with God as He purifies and sanctifies us. When we grieve over our sin as God intends, its leads us to repentance without regret. We are forgiven, we seek restoration with those we have offended and we move on. Sorrow without God simply produces death. Its unproductive ultimately.

God is there any area of life where I have offended You or others?

As this day begins Lord, I have seen you working with power in recent days. Would you continue to move heaven and earth to help me do well in my ministry within my family, work, and beyond. I look forward to what You have planned.
