I had a dream the other night that I was sharing my faith with a rather unhappy woman who was not a believer and (in the dream) was expressing her ardent opposition to God (even though she claimed to not believe in Him). I made a simple defense of the faith that went like this… “I once was as you were.. (without hope) but, God proved Himself to be real to me, and I am now filled with joy”. It was a short and strange dream… seems like they always are. But, it was profound. In reality, I didn’t always believe in the gospel, Jesus, and God. Not that I was altogether hostile, but rather I was ignorant. Thank God someone shared their faith, life, and the gospel with me!
Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you will abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. And concerning you, my brothers and sisters, I myself also am convinced that you yourselves are full of goodness, filled with all knowledge and able also to admonish one another. But I have written very boldly to you on some points so as to remind you again, because of the grace that was given to me from God, to be a minister of Christ Jesus to the Gentiles, ministering as a priest the gospel of God, so that my offering of the Gentiles may become acceptable, sanctified by the Holy Spirit. Is there a power in my life because of the Holy Spirit? What hope, joy, and peace have come to me in believing?
God, as this day begins- its true, I have an abiding peace in my life because of the salvation offered in Jesus life, death, burial and resurrection. I have ever growing joy that is the result of believing in You and Your plan for my life. May I, as the apostle Paul prayed… be a minister of Christ Jesus to the Gentiles, ministering as a priest the gospel of God, so that my offering of the Gentiles may become acceptable, sanctified by the Holy Spirit. In other words, may I serve You faithfully and make an eternal spiritual difference in people’s lives!
