At that time Jesus, full of joy through the Holy Spirit, said, “I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for this is what you were pleased to do. Luke 10:21
Jesus was filled with joy at the return of his disciples who had gone out in pairs sharing his message with the nearby villages. They received a mixed response from the people, but they discovered a God-given power to heal, encourage, and bless people. Even the evil forces were subjected to them. The kingdom of God was brought very near to the people of the villages. When God’s kingdom grows, God is pleased. Jesus said pray that there are more workers sent in to the harvest.
Am I a worker in the kingdom of God? Am I sharing how near the kingdom of God really is with those who need His touch of healing in their lives, blessings, and provision? When was the last time I shared the life-changing story of Jesus and the significance of His teaching with another person one on one?
God, thank you for who You are in my life and the great calling. Its so good to be home and back with my family and the people at church. I pray I can be useful to You and share the amazing message of Christ’s love with someone today.
