We Are The Champions

And I saw something like a sea of glass mixed with fire, and those who had been victorious over the beast and his image and the number of his name, standing on the sea of glass, holding harps of God.  And they sang the song of Moses, the bond-servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying,

“Great and marvelous are Your works, O Lord God, the Almighty;
Righteous and true are Your ways, King of the nations!
“Who will not fear, O Lord, and glorify Your name?
For You alone are holy;
For all the nations will come and worship before You,
For Your righteous acts have been revealed.” Revelation 15: 2-4

I love that song by Queen “We are the Champions”. We used to sing it on our bus ride home from junior high basketball games. That one magical season where we won 15 games! In life we have victories and defeat, wins and losses, mistakes and successes, and various tests, trials and tribulations. John’s vision presents the ultimate test, loyalty to God or to the beast, his mark and his name. The scene in Revelation 15 is in heaven and those who had been victorious over the beast were standing before God in a very honored and special manner. They declare their victory and that all nations will worship before God. They sing the old song of Moses (from the Exodus) and the new song of the Lamb (testimony in Jesus). How wonderful and fitting for any who rejects the mark of the beast. They lose their lives, only to find their eternal lives in glory.

He is no fool who gives up what he cannot keep, to gain that which he cannot lose. Jim Elliot, missionary.

Am I resolved to worship God and Him alone? Do I have a conviction about the mark of the beast?

God, as this day begins, and I am pastor on call, send me the people who need help, encouragement, love and guidance. Give me the wisdom from above and the gentleness that comes from Your abiding Spirit within me. Thank you for my cutie granddaughter, joyful grandson, wonderful kids and their spouses.
