Are we beginning to commend ourselves again? Or do we need, as some, letters of commendation to you or from you?
You are our letter, written in our hearts, known and read by all men; being manifested that you are a letter of Christ, cared for by us, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts. 2 Corinthians 2:1-3
Paul had helped the believers in Corinth grow in their knowledge and faith in Jesus Christ. Having loved them and poured his life in them, he considered them carriers now of the gospel. In a beautiful illustration, he reminded them they are living letters, known and read by all men. The same is true of you and I today. Before people ever read the Bible, they have the opportunity to read it in us.
Is my life a good representation of the gospel and the transforming power of God?
Lord, today I need You and Your wisdom in all my meetings. As Maureen and I spend time today, may our friendship be sweet. Bless each of our kids in unique ways. As Keanu travels, keep him safe and give him a great adventure in Guadalajara. For Kaenan, may he enjoy his Summer break, but still do his chores. For Eden, restore her vitality and joy. For Kaister, may he shine in his work.
