For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “But the righteous man shall live by faith.” Romans 1:16-17
Gospel means ‘good news’. Paul, the author of the letter to the Roman believers, was faithful in preaching the good news of the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and that God’s kingdom (albeit a Spiritual kingdom) was at hand. This gospel contained the plan of salvation for everyone who believed then and believes now. The key element is that those who would be in a right relationship with God would come into that relationship by faith, not works. And as a result, the would receive the abiding presence of the Holy Spirit of God. Wow! Who would ever be ashamed of that?
Who in my circle of influence needs to hear and understand the gospel? Am I taking opportunities to share with others?
God, today I pray You draw many to the Christ-centered, Bible believing churches in Corona today. Continue Your saving work. May the gospel be preached faithfully and powerfully. Please add to the church today, those that are being saved.
