I’m not saying I’ve been everywhere and done everything at all. But, one thing I have discovered is the amazing and powerful expression of unity in Spirit with Christians in other parts of the world. It doesn’t matter whether I’ve been in prisons or palaces, when Christians are together, we have the opportunity to experience what Paul the apostle called “the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace”. Its quite remarkable because in those moments the life we have chosen in Christ becomes paramount, the kingdom of heaven is within our grasp, and love rules the day. Jesus gave us His example and command to go into all the world preaching His gospel, baptizing in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit and to teach people to obey all His commands. What a privilege it is to do so.

Therefore I, the prisoner of the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, being diligent to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as you also were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all who is over all and through all and in all. Ephesians 4:1-6 NASB

In what ways can I foster unity in the Spirit within my own home church?

God, as this day begins- I realize there are so many that pray for me (how humbling that is). So, I want to pray and ask for Your blessings of wisdom, harmony in home life, energy beyond their own, and love to rule the day for pastor Chuck, pastor Craig, their wives, children and extended family. Bless them richly so that they might continue to minister, almost without human effort, with all effectiveness. May our church (Crossroads) and the other Christ-centered, Bible teaching churches be united together in Your name.
