Understanding All Things

Evil men do not understand justice,
But those who seek the Lord understand all things.
Better is the poor who walks in his integrity
Than he who is crooked though he be rich.
He who keeps the law is a discerning son,
But he who is a companion of gluttons humiliates his father.
Proverbs 28:5-7

The more I seek to know God, His will, and His ways,… the more joyful I become. As I obey the commands of Jesus and model my life after His, I find blessings, even in the midst of difficulty, loss, and pain.

Solomon contrasts those who seek God, have integrity, and keep the law with those who do not. The benefits are manifold. Some of them include ‘understanding all things’. The Bible says that we who are children of God, have access to the mind of God. What doesn’t God know? Walking in integrity is better than being rich, because you will be rich in friendships and right with God. Lastly, those who keep God’s holy law, the law of liberty- by walking in the Spirit become people who can discern right and wrong- we are pleasing to the Father.

How can I be more like this wise son today?

God, as this day begins, show me what You know in the projects and plans I am developing. Help me walk in integrity- to be one with You and in harmony with your calling on my life and without fulfilling fleshly desires. I am so grateful whenever You put thoughts in my mind beyond my own.
