You therefore, beloved, knowing this beforehand, be on your guard so that you are not carried away by the error of unprincipled men and fall from your own steadfastness, but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory, both now and to the day of eternity. Amen. 2 Peter 3:17-18
Peter concludes his letter with an admonishment to remain on guard with respect to false teachers and those who doubt the coming of the Lord. Our aim is to grow in the grace and knowledge of Christ for His glory. When we know Him and are more like Him, He is glorified in us. To be glorified means that He is made more evident and visible. So, whenever I exhibiting Christlikeness, God is glorified because His nature is revealed to those who see my life.
Is there any areas of my life where I am seeking my glory above God’s?
Lord as we begin this day, please direct my attentions and affections toward Christlikeness. May I be a visible representation of Your character today. Please continue to meet all my needs with the riches found in Christ Jesus and by Your miracle working power. I will give You the credit, because You alone are deserving.
