To God Be The Glory

Have you ever heard someone receiving praise from others, say “I give God all the glory”? Athletes do it in interviews. And they mean it. We all should say it because for a Christian, it is God who gives us the abilities, energy, and wisdom to succeed or to endure trials in life. So, He who supplies the power deserves the glory. That’s what the apostle Paul was saying to the people in Corinth. He recognized that the abiding presence of the Holy Spirit dwelling in him and them was a shining contrast to their weak earthly ‘vessels or containers’ bodies which are filled with human frailties and sinful desires.

But we have this treasure in earthen containers, so that the extraordinary greatness of the power will be of God and not from ourselves; 2 Corinthians 4:7 NASB

To whom do I give glory both in my mind and to others in the world? Am I clear that my very breath is a gift from the God who made me?

God, as this day begins- its a moment to for me to say “to You be the glory”. Any bright part of my life is a reflection of Your shining and radiant character. Truly, I possess the greatest treasure (the pearl of great price), the Spirit of God dwelling in me. What a joy. What a mystery. May the words “I praise God and give Him all the glory” come from my mouth today.
